My trip to the land of green: Ranthambore
Oh I can’t get over the tall trees and those different
fascinating animals with all so varied characteristics. Oh, I wish I was back there in the fantasy
land of Ranthambore.
The journey started early in the morning when the sun didn’t
even wake up, but we all were up full of excitement. We all settled in the
train and with all the excitement those 5 hours seemed to be like weeks. The
long wait was over finally we reached at our resort - The Om Rudra priya Resort;
a good and comfortable nesting
rest. We quickly freshened up for the
temple visit. The temples were our first destination. The temples were very
ancient and classic. We even saw monkeys, langoors, deer, blue bull, wild pig,
many birds even. We really enjoyed the first day. It was a very religious and
historical day.
The next day we woke up early in the morning and quickly
changed our clothes, grabbed our camera, water bottles, caps and warm jackets
for the safari. We settled in our canters and moved. We started by seeing a
very rare scene, a snake with an owl. Then we saw many birds, tigers,
crocodiles, mongoose, deer, sambar deer and langoor. We saw 2 tigers- Machli and Laxmi. Machli
(T-16) was spotted 2 times and she is the famed tiger of Ranthambore. She is
the oldest tiger in the Park at a record age of 17+. She had recently injured
her paws and was licking it continuously. Laxmi is the daughter of Machli. When
we spotted her, she was sleeping as it was time for her to rest. She did not
wake up easily, when woke up, she just walked to another corner and slept
there. It was fascinating to see the how the langoors help the herbivores to
not being attacked by predators. The langoors climb up and therefore can see
from far, so they inform the herbivores by a sound. I really enjoyed this day
and capturing nature on our cameras was pretty good fun.
The last day, fortunately was also fun. That day we visited
the fort. That day was very historical. The king ‘Prithviraj’ ruled the palace.
Many Muslim rulers tried attacking the
fort, but no one was able to win. Usually they wanted to attack the kingdom for
the wealth and for the king’s wife. We saw parrots there that were really
pretty. The train journey was awesome. We had lots of fun. And……..
This beautiful journey ended and we were all back to home
sweet home. Sharing the clicks, memories and souvenirs with our families,
friends.
The journey ended with a smile on all faces and we look
forward to such good and well organized trips. Hats off to Miss Mayura’s
messages, Mr. Ankit’s efforts and knowledge, Miss Dipti’s motherly care.
